- signs global agreement

At PartnerTech the customer offer is continuously improved. As the global customer base of PartnerTech has been generating larger volumes, simultaneously the demand of new logistical solutions has been identified. PartnerTech and United Logistics Solutions have signed a global agreement for Supply Chain Management. The agreement enables PartnerTech to service their customers with a total end-to-end logistical set up and provide the customers efficiency and simplicity which results in decreased costs.

PartnerTech has some 1 800 employees at its facilities in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Polen, U.K., U.S.A. and China.

- "We established contact with United Logistics Group as they provided the competence we were looking for and due to the appropriate size of the company, says Mats Lundin, Head of Sourcing at Partertech. Also, due to personal chemistry and that a cooperation could create a win-win situation we realized it was a good decision."

PartnerTech and United Logistics Group signed an agreement regarding services within the Supply Chain Management. The cooperation has enabled the parties to find more rational and standardised solutions for the supply of material from suppliers, to the customer and between the facilities of PartnerTech. Since 2006 PartnerTech has practised a conventional logistical solution in supplying large volumes to the customer and to the customer’s customer in Europe. Although the cooperation with United Logistics Group has been satisfying, PartnerTech have to review the service requirements and expectations and also on forecasting expecting volumes. Both parties also need to adjust the potential weak links in within the cooperation, all to create an exceptional customer offer.

A coordinated development of the agreement has taken place – from standard agreement for the handling of in- and outbound volumes as effectively as possible, it also includes strategic consulting services for the Supply Chain Structure. In addition, a cooperation has been applied with United Solutions in order to adapt analyzing tools and be able to handle statistics and control the Supply Chain from external suppliers.

- "The purpose of our cooperation has been to sharpen and broaden our offer to the customer to enable to meet new demands, says Mats Lundin. We control production and we have the competence required to handle the production efficiently for our customers. However, we lack in competence within areas of transport and distribution. Therefore it was natural to form cooperation with United Solutions. They have the competence and experience that makes us confident in the cooperation."

PartnerTech must always be updated on their customer’s needs and demands and have to perform high quality in all areas, in parallel with an attractive price setting. Due to the cooperation with United Logistics Group we can now offer more complete solutions to all customers. PartnerTech do not have to develop the competence internally and therefore have the ability to become more flexible in making use of internal resources. This in turn, creates more effectiveness and lower costs on a long term basis.

According to Mats Lundin it is of importance to keep the development of the cooperation on an adequate level. There must be sufficient time for identifying and correcting potential obstacles in the phase of implementation. Also, due to that new ways of working and the new offers to the customer, PartnerTech also need to respond and handle the internal changes. The sales department and others must be given the opportunity to understand what the possibilities are and how these should be communicated. The cooperation makes it possible for the customer of PartnerTech to refer to them as a overall supplier and apply “one stop shopping”. This will of course make it easier for the customer and in some cases lead to lower costs.

- "The increasing cooperation is still very new and feels very exciting, says Mats Lundin. We can already also identify additional areas to develop in our cooperation. It feels good. We are totally convinced that through the development with United Logistics Group we have taken a step in the right direction."
