4PL Cost cutting strategy

4PL Cost cutting strategy
There are certain times when order fulfillment has to be handled with less focus on logistics costs. Increased demand in a business boom and introduction in evolving markets are two examples of causes that put the wheels rolling in such a way that the logistics department requires the characteristics of a fire department.
Eventually this state comes to an end, though. The continuous development stops and the rules are changed. Companies strive to find a new costume to be competitive on a decreasing market.

Cost cutting strategies are top priority on management agendas, and expenses are questioned throughout the organizations. Logistics and transportation are inevitable areas of great focus in these times.
Unfortunately, downsizing a current supply chain solution with many parties involved is no simple task. Supply chain management companies and their likes are more than happy to help, but are they committed to a long and dedicated partnership? What happens when their change management project ends and the new operators are in place?
United Operations is convinced that a 4PL agreement is a fruitful solution to cost cutting issues regarding transport and logistics. To have an independent external function that helps reduce total transport costs with maintained or even increased logistics performance is an appetizer in many aspects. Only setting up the logistics network and coordinate the ongoing freights is of no interest to United Operations. Instead they want to use powerful tools to supervise the flow based on many aspects as invoice control, freight optimization, delivery notifications, customs clearance and so on.
As a partner with their customers United Operations strive for a win-win situation where their performance is measured and compared to an incentive based compensation plan. They have no doubt in their ability to be a decisive player in their customer’s supply chain cost cutting plans.
