Six quick questions to Per-Arne Svensson, the new General Manager of Establish Group, who started on August 11.
What is your background?
I come from Hewlett Packard (HP) where I have been responsible for some of HP’s biggest outsourcing clients in Europe, e.g. Procter & Gamble and General Electric. Previously I have worked as consultant for Andersen Consulting and McKinsey & Co. I have also worked for General Electric in senior management positions in Supply Chain Management and Six Sigma Quality.

What motivates you?
To achieve permanent improvements that adds substantial value to our clients. To build a strong team at Establish/United Logistics Group (ULG) that can help our clients worldwide achieve this.
What made you choose United Logistics Group?
ULG has a very interesting strategy based on our Demand Chain Control Center (DCC) concept. We have very competent consultants with a good mix of analytical skills and experience in driving change. The market positioning, quality of consultants and ambitious expansion plan was an extraordinary combination to me. ULG also have stable owners with an explicit wish to realize the ULG strategy in the long term.
In what way will you run the business?
My first and foremost goal will always be that we secure the delivery of high quality projects. Our clients are to be able to sleep well at night and feel that what we deliver adds distinct value. We will continue to work intensely in our different ULG Business Areas. My opinion is that the limitation today is the challenge of finding qualified consultants, rather than finding business opportunities.
Which are the focus areas in the next year?
Continue to work on our offer. We have a broad offer. We want to have a dialogue with existing clients about areas where we can add more value. We will work in close cooperation with our different ULG Business Areas and continue our market activities in the same way as before. It is important to have a continuous dialogue with all our clients. We will also put a lot of energy into recruiting more consultants.
If you were to describe your new job in one sentence what would it be?
Building a rapidly growing DCC focused company within strategic consulting, with a ULG base, and thereby help clients achieve a much improved competitiveness.
